India successfully Test Agni-I missile

India on Friday successfully test its indigenously developed nuclear-capable ballistic missile
Agni-I missile from Wheeler Island off Odisha coast.
This missile has a strike range of 700 km.This single-stage missile, powered by solid
propellants and this missile is a surface-to-surface missile.
According to DRDO official they developed medium-range Agni-I ballistic missile has
a specialised navigation system which ensures it reaches the target with a high degree
of accuracy and precision.
The 15 meter long missile can carry a payload of 1000 kilogram Agni-I missile is
Weighing 12 tonnes.
The surface to surface missile Agni-1 is launched from a mobile launcher at 9.33 AM
from launch pad-4 of the Integrated Test Range at Wheeler Island, about 100 km from
Balasore, as part of a user trial by the Army.
Agni-I was developed by the advance systems laboratory, the premier missile development
laboratory of the DRDO and was collaborated with the Defence Research Development
Laboratory and the Research Centre Imarat and integrated by the Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hyderabad.
Pakistan also on Tuesday had successful test-fired a short range surface-to-surface missile
named Hatf IX (Nasr).

India successfully test nuclear-capable Agni V long range missile on sunday

India’s first long-range nuclear capable missile, Agni-V, was launched on
Sundayfor the second time in Odisha, from Wheeler Island at 8:50 am on
Sunday. It is the country's most potent nuclear capable ballistic, long range
(5,000 km range)  missile.
The missile has the capability to strike targets that are deep inside China
and Pakistan.
It will also make India capable of striking a one-tonne nuclear warhead anywhere
in China and as far as Europe.
Only the UN Security Council permanent members - China, France, Russia,
the United States and Britain - have such long-range weapons.
This is the second test for this missile which is successfull and the first test was
conducted on 19 April, 2012 which was a total success.
It is about 17 meter long and 2 metres wide with launch weight of around 50 tonnes.
Many new technologies developed indigenously were successfully tested in the first
Agni-V trial. The redundant navigation systems, very high accuracy Ring Laser
Gyro based Inertial Navigation System (RINS) and the most modern and accurate
Micro Navigation System (MINS) had ensured the missile reach the target point within
a few meters of accuracy.
The surface-to-surface missile, which can carry a nuclear warhead of more than one
tonne, witnessed an 'auto launch' and detail results of the trial will be known after
thorough analyses of all data retrieved from different radars and network systems,
they said:
"Unlike other missiles of indigenously built Agni series, the latest one 'AGNI-V'
is the most advanced version having some new technologies incorporated with it
in terms of navigation and guidance, warhead and engine.
In the Agni series, India at present has Agni-1 with 700 km range, Agni-2 with
2000 km range, Agni-3 and Agni-4 with 2500 km to more than 3500 range.
Agni-V will be inducted into the services very soon-sources

C17 Globemaster III Joins Indian Airforce

C17 Globemaster is now part of Indian Airforce fleet. Today C17 Globemaster
transport plane inducted in the Indian Air force, which has capability of lifting
tanks, heavy viechles, hundreds of armed soldiers and hellicpters to the border
with China and Pakistan, has made its debut with a test flight at the Hindon base
in Uttar Pradesh. Some defence experts called it a strategic airlifter.
This airlifter plane is capable to carry a load upto 80 tonne. It can land on a
rough surface/semi prepared runway. It requires only 3000 to 3500 feet long
runway to take off which is its main feature. It is one of the worlds advance
planes/airlifters. It replace the Russian IL-76 as the biggest aircraft in the IAF
inventory till now, which has capability of carrying 40 tonne load.
It will also play a vital role in disaster management for rescue and transportation
of essential things etc.
Indian Government sign a deal with US in 2011 for 10 C17 Globemaster
airlifters at a cost of 20 thousand crore rupee. Out of these ten three are
delivered to india and 2 will be delivered with the end of 2013 and the rest
5 in 2014.
C-17 is seen as an important signal from India at a time when China has been
building up its military infrastructure along the disputed border of Line of Actual
Control. It will boost the power of Indian Air force.
